The life of The Girl Shelby

Well I've done it. I have managed to get my CD collection onto my ipod. Admittedly I didn't put every single track from every one of my 250 CD's onto the ipod as there are some album tracks that I just won't listen to. However, I have over 2750 tracks on my ipod (I won't refer to them as songs as at least 100 tracks are comedy) and have used up only a third of my total ipod's capacity! To celebrate I went to the gym for the first time in 5 weeks so I could listen to some of my music. However, I discovered that I really now need to create some playlists so I don't have to skip all of the slow songs.

I spent most of yesterday watching the London Marathon trying to spot the two guys I knew who were running. I didn't see them, but was as ever awed at the dedication of the people who do take part and the reasons why. I know there is no point in even wishing try and take part myself as I am far too lazy to train (I'd end up emulating Jade Goody - no training, wrong shoes and collapsing after 18 miles) However, I think I'd like to go and spectate.

Work is going well. I'm really enjoying it so far and everyone has been really nice and welcoming. I get paid this week which will be exciting - I'm already spending in anticipation of riches.

A number of new babies have arrived in the past couple of weeks - two boys and two girls. I got a text from one of the new mother's today thanking me for a present I sent and promising to call me when things settle down - in about 5 years or so...

It's been ages since I last posted and this is going to be yet another brief entry to say that I am still alive and that the new job is going OK so far. It's the beginning of my third week and I feel like I've been here forever. My last job is but a dim and distant memory!

The whole thing has been such a non event, it makes me wonder why I didn't do this earlier!
